Beginning Knitting
Learn the comforting art of knitting. Class will cover needle and yarn selection, casting on, knit and purl stitches, and casting off.

Beginning Knitting 2
Would you like to go beyond knitting rectangles? Beginning knitting 2 will teach increasing and decreasing, creating your own dictionary of techniques. We will also make a hat. Get your knitting questions answered!
Advanced beginner. Must know how to cast on, cast off, knit, and purl
Size 8 needles, smooth worsted weight yarn, a 3 ring binder

Introduction to Lace
Lace knitting is fun and easy once you learn the basic techniques! Create a beautiful fishtail lace scarf in this basic lace class.
Adventurous beginner. Must know how to cast on, knit, purl, and cast off.
Size 8 needles, 2 skeins of smooth worsted or dk weight yarn like Cascade Pima, at least 200 yards each.

Lace Beret
When the temperature dips suddenly and snow starts falling in May, reach for this pretty, lacy beret! Knits quiclky in worsted weight wool.
Advanced beginner. Must be comfortable casting on and off, knitting and purling. Skills taught will be basic lace, knitting in the round, and knitting on double point needles.
220 yards worsted weight wool, 16 in size 7 circular needles, size 7 dpns, stitch markers.

2 Socks on 2 Circulars
Do you suffer from second sock syndrome? Or maybe you're just interested in knitting both socks at the same time but don't know how to get started. That's what we'll do in this class--we'll get you started. Once you understand how it works, it's very simple to finish a pair of socks!

This is a one of a kind hat that is fun to knit and fun to wear! Learn the "Mobius Cast On" from Cat Bordhi's "Treasury of Magical Knitting". Also learn "Jeny's Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off" from knitty.com. This is a great class for knitters who are looking for new techniques to expand their knitting skills.

Baby Surprise Sweater from EZ
"The Baby Surprise Jacket was designed by Elizabeth Zimmermann in 1968 and remains a popular baby garment to this day. It is an excellent pattern for making use of oddments of yarn or self striping yarns with long color repeats, but looks equally nice knit in a single color with a contrasting button band. Commonly referred to as the "BSJ", the baby surprise jacket is "a very entertaining piece of knitted engineering"

Beyond Basics
So I know how to knit and purl. What do I do next? How to fix mistakes, How to read a pattern, What does yarn weight mean, how to tell what type of yarn will work for your project. Importance of gauge. Bring a project to start or work or one you need help finishing.

Learn to knit a hat in the round. Choose a beret or watch hat style, pick your weight of yarn.

Sampler Lace Scarf
Want to learn some new patterns or stitches without doing an entire project in each stitch? This is a class for you. A "sampler" scarf that will explore a number of different patterns and give you an opportunity to advance your skills.
Advanced Beginner. Must be comfortable with Knit and Purl stitches.
Yarn amount needed will depend on the weight of yarn you selet. Enough to do an average scarf 200-400 yards. Correct needles for weight of yarn, stitch markers, row counter double pointed needles in same size as workiing needles.
Sundays in April: 1st and 15 and 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm. Must have five paid in advance for class to happen.

Felted Bag
Learn to machine felt by knitting a hand bag. Finished size of the hand bag is approximately 10 x 10. You will knit the bag, and then learn all about machine felting. This is a very easy project. If you can knit, purl, increase, and decrease you can make this bag.
Advanced Beginner
Book: Bags - Knitter's Dozen; US Size 8 & 10; 1 yd. of 1/4" to 1/2" upholstery cotton cording; yarn (must be knitting worsted weight 100% wool) 400 yds main color, 120 yds contrasting color.

Knitting in Circles
It is time to stop using those straight needles for your knitting projects. In this class you will learn how to use double-pointed knitting needles and circular needles. You will then learn the double-loop concept using 32" circular needles.

Scandanavian Flap Cap
You will make a warm 2-color winter hat, with ear flaps. You will learn how to carry contrasting yarn. Must be able to use double pointed needles and/or circular needles. The pattern book has instructions for kids sizes and adult sizes. Will also discuss how to line your hat.

Mittens with Fingers
Learn to make mittens that have flaps over the fingers. And when you pull back the flaps, you will find your mittens have individual fingers knitted up to the knuckles. The mittens are knitted using a 32" circular needle. You must know how to use the double-loop concept on circular knitting or have taken the Knitting in Circles Class.
Advanced
